GET BACK TO NORMAL? - WHAT THE F*CK!

Image
Come what may, whatever tomorrow may bring, we need to deal with it and move on! The world is in pieces and we can not change it or fix it with the same thinking that got us here. Greed and Selfishness will not be tolerated moving forward. The truth will be first and foremost the determining factor on every decision and petty bullshit will not be tolerated. Stupidity and ignorance - willful or otherwise will be called out and not be allowed to continue. We are all in this together the Social Compact must be adhered to and practiced and encouraged if we are to survive and evolve beyond this moment in time. "Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go." ~ Hermann Hesse There is a lot of misinformation out there. Conspiracy theories are running rampant. Fake news, disinformation, social media is inundated and saturated with memes and cartoons depicting gallows humor a person doesn't know what to believe - so we cower in our c...

THE BIG BAD, BAD.

Image
They say when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Well, what if the tough has a compromised immune system and they’re in their sixties? They might not be that tough? And, what about those with compromised behavioral systems? The ones who cannot take direction and will do what they want and may hurt someone/   I liked to think that I am disciplined enough to listen to the scientists and take careful, thoughtful measures without panicking. But there are those who’ve already at their wits end and a pandemic is just the challenge they cannot handle because they are not sure what is and what is not under their control. A thin person may not worry about starving, but the obese person may worry where their next meal is coming from. Or the other way around – it is all about their locus of control. I know I am resourceful. I am sure that things will be ok until they are not. I can plan for the worst-case scenario yet hope for the best. We should be able to gauge where w...

THE QUEST TO FIND AN HONEST MAN.

Image
YOU ARE OUT THERE, SHOW YOURSELF! I know we are in trying times. The country is in tumult. Brother against brother, sister against sister, and friend against friend. What are we to do? HOW ABOUT WE TRY AND SEE THINGS FROM ANOTHER'S PERSPECTIVE? We are all in the same boat. We can turn a blind eye to the proverbial iceberg ahead or we can steer away and clear of the impending catastrophe ahead. We know its there, we do, but we do not know what it is or what it looks like. Remember that phrase - Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it. Well, folks, we are on the precipice of that familiar cliff. We can walk it back or take that flying leap into the abyss of war, chaos, and famine. It is our nature. Our human nature? Or, our animal nature? We could be evolving into our divine nature. But, that takes work, sacrifice, and awareness. I am an optimist. We have so much to do and become. Science and technology are making new ...

MIND YOUR THOUGHTS

Image
Be Mindful of Your Thoughts. Part 1. There are four thoughtful practices we can apply to our thinking to help us to be more mindful and present.  They can be applied to what we think about the external world, the world at large; our interior Heart-Mind world, and how we think and feel about ourselves. Stop thinking habitual negative thoughts: i.e. “I am never going to get anywhere in life”.  This stinking thinking does not help.  Most of our internal dialogue – “The Critique” is negative.  Be Mindful of the habit of always seeing the proverbial glass as half empty.  Be grateful that you have a glass at all.  When you are able to monitor your thoughts and catch a negative thought arise, compassionately hit the pause button, and try to see the inverse, or opposite, turn it around or upside down.  Instead of thinking that you are not “… going to get anywhere in life”.  Think or say to yourself instead – “You know, I do not need to go...

How to Achieve Mental Wealth.

The other day I was listening to a podcast and they were discussing mental health. The question at hand was - if mental health, or a brain disorder, is caused strictly due to a chemical imbalance? The eventually landed on the idea that it is a combination of chemical imbalance and a person's emotional state. Of course, one's emotional state has a lot of different contributing factors. If a person's emotional state is not steady or stable it tends to fluctuate. Depending on the individual or one's state may cycle rapidly i.e. a person who is Bipolar may go up and down like a roller coaster. A person who is not Neuro-divergent and who is relatively healthy - mentally wise may only have a blip or a mild disappearance throughout their day. Come what may - it is similar to the chicken and the egg paradox. If someone has troubling thoughts, that may cause them to get emotionally upset. Which inturns stirs the cauldron of neurochemistry causing one to enter a state that...
