DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU THINK.

Image
Just because you think, it is so, or just, does not make it so. You may be wrong. I know it is hard to believe right. What else could you be wrong about, who knows. Since you believe it, it must be so. That is called conformational bias. We all suffer from it. We all want to be right, but because the ego must always be right so must we. If we think we know everything how will we ever learn? We are entitled to our own opinion, as the saying goes, but not to our facts. The facts are the facts. We must keep an open mind and not run everything through the filter of our experience alone. We must try not to interpret everything and assign it a fixed meaning. We must approach everything from all sides, put ourselves in the place or space, and do our best to apply reason and logic whilst we trust our intuition. If we are able not to blame, shame, admonish or praise we are better able to see things as they truly are. Our life is shaped by our mind, for we become wh...

DIRECT KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE : GNOSIS

IF WE CLOSE OUR MINDS AND HEARTS WE ARE LOST TO GROWTH & HEALING! We are in danger of losing our future - for we have lost our way. We can not admit when we are wrong or that we have made a mistake. We cling to strongly held beliefs and convictions when what is needed is openness and inclusion. Why is it that we are so preoccupied with what is ours, mine, not yours instead of how can I help. I drop off close I don't need anymore at the local store that takes charitable donations and then they ask me if I want a receipt? Why? So I can claim it on my taxes? I tell the lady every time - that it kind of defeats the purpose. I give to help not to receive. I could sell it online or have a yard sale to make a few bucks, but when I was down and out and could not afford a new pair of shoes I went to a store like this and could buy a used pair never thinking that the person who donated them could itemize it on their tax return. Love returns Love. Kindness returns...

THE ART OF BEING.

JUST BE - THAT'S ALL THERE IS PERIOD! That's all there is to it. Easy but not simple! But how, you ask? How do I just be? Can you be present? Can you quiet your mind? Can you breathe in and then out? Can you be aware of your thoughts? Can you be mindful of your feelings? Can you stop before you act impulsively? You can. I know you can. If I can then you can too. A year and a half ago, I had a Bipolar episode. My anxiety was off the charts -I then went into a depression and it spiraled down and I hit bottom, AGAIN .  I climbed out of the hole eventually. I was fortunate that I have people who care about me. I was trying to be something I was not and when I did not succeed, I got down on myself and it all went to shit. I came off my medication. I could not eat. I could not sleep. I lost thirty pounds. That attack sent my blood sugar soaring. Now, I have that challenge to combat. No worries though. It was the best thing that could happened to me. I got up. I sto...

ACCEPTANCE : THE BEAUTY OF WHAT IS.

Image
The Stoic principle that tells us – Recognize what is under your control and what isn't under your control.   Don't worry about what isn't under your control – it is acceptance.   It is not giving in or rolling over, but accepting what is.   To not accept what is, is pure ignorance. Not accepting what is, is being closed off.   Accepting the circumstances and working within the reality that we find ourselves in creates opportunities and novelty where we can challenge ourselves and do so learn new things so that we may grow and expand in consciousness and in being. If I never accepted anything, I would always be recapitulating what I already knew and understood.   By accepting the unknown, or what is, a tension is created, a spark of inspiration awaits me where I am still in uncertainty and still in the possibilities.   I accept myself for who I am.   I accept you for who you are.   I accept that there is a pain in m...
